Three Injured in Accidental Shootings, Including Two Children
A 4-year-old in Raleigh, Tennessee, found his uncle’s loaded gun and shot himself. Police were told that the gun was a .45 caliber Glock 36 handgun owned by the boy’s uncle 22-year-old Bryant Vann. In Vann’s bedroom where the shooting took place, officers didn’t find .45 caliber casings, but instead found 9mm casings, and they located a 9mm Springfield Armory XD-M Elite pistol under a bush along with another pistol. Vann told officers he left the Glock unsecured and loaded in his bed and admitted placing the other two firearms in the backyard. He was charged with child abuse and neglect as well as tampering with evidence.
