Girl is Wounded by Stray Gunfire During Shootout

An 11-year-old girl in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is recovering in stable condition after being struck in the hip by stray gunfire while out shopping with her family. Police say nearly 30 shots were fired and are searching for at least two people involved in a shootout that spanned a few intersections of the city. A 32-year-old man was also shot, although it’s unclear if he was an intended target or another innocent bystander. Witnesses are being questioned, and detectives are checking city crime cameras in search of footage that may help identify the shooters.
