Three-year-old Finds Loaded Gun; Shoots and Kills Baby Sister

In Fallbrook, California, a 1-year-old girl was unintentionally shot and killed by her 3-year-old sibling. The older sibling found an unsecured loaded handgun at home and fired it, striking the infant in the head. She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. The investigation is ongoing, and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.

“I’m heartbroken, I’m devastated,” said a neighbor. “My grandchildren are that age.”
