North Carolina Teen Unintentionally Shot and Killed

14-year-old Kiasia Iyonna Birchett was accidentally shot and killed by a 16-year-old relative today in High Point, North Carolina.  “I moved from Jersey to give her a better life and to get her away from the violence, the guns, give her a better life, I did everything, and I feel like I failed my child,” her mother said.   “She thinks everything is funny, it could be the silliest thing, she’s funny, the littlest thing, she thinks it’s so funny. She would be cracking up laughing,” she added. 

Kiasia was sleeping over at the home of a relative when the incident occurred. The 16-year old shooter was taken into custody and charged with manslaughter.
