Two Dead and Four Wounded in Unintentional Shootings
Jordan Rosales, a 12-year-old from Lubbock, Texas, was accidentally shot and killed in his house in front of his three siblings. Two boys had came over to the victim’s house; one of them, a 13-year-old, brought a loaded gun with him and while handling it, shot and killed Rosales. He was charged with manslaughter. The shooting is still under investigation.
Sayyos Rios, a 40-year-old father of six was shot and killed in Rochester, New York. Rios was sitting on his front porch when he was caught in the crossfire of a drive-by shooting and was struck in the head by a stray bullet. His brother ran to him when he learned of the shooting. “Bro, help,” were Rios’s last words. “I just don’t understand. He didn’t deserve that,” his brother said.
In Portland, Oregon, two people were injured when one of them accidentally shot themself and a partner while showing off a laser sight on a gun. Both victims were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.
Robert Bishop, 44, of Millsboro, Delaware, was treated at a local hospital for a gunshot wound to his wrist after accidentally shooting himself. Bishop is a convicted felon and is prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm. He faces multiple charges.
And a man in San Antonio, Texas thought he heard an intruder in his backyard. He took a gun with him when he went outside and unintentionally shot himself in the leg. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
