Three More Unintended Child Victims; One Dead Two Wounded
K’Von Morgan, age 10, of Petersburg, Virginia was shot and killed while preparing for bed today. He was struck by a bullet fired outside the apartment where he lived with his family and died on the way to the hospital. “It makes no sense that a child had to lose his life by being inside his bedroom, doing what he was doing, and preparing to go to bed for the night. It’s ridiculous,” the Petersburg Police Chief said. “We really need our community to come forward and understand we’re losing children,” he added.
In Cleves, Ohio, an 8-year-old boy was shot in the ankle while sitting in the stands at a local baseball field. The sheriff’s investigation found that an errant round was fired from a privately owned makeshift firing range nearby. Afternoon baseball practice was cancelled.
And nearby, in Dayton, Ohio, a two-year old suffered a graze wound when he fired a gun inside his home. The child’s parents assured police that the gun was secured.
