13-year-old is Accidentally Shot with Rifle, Two Teenage Brothers Face Charges
Outside an apartment complex in Nashville, Tennessee, a 15-year-old boy was handling a bolt action rifle when it accidentally fired, striking a 13-year-old in the shoulder. The shooter’s 16-year-old brother came outside when he heard the gunshot, took the rifle, hid it in their apartment, and told his brother to run. The teen fled, returning later that night. In the apartment, Police recovered the rifle used in the shooting and another bolt action rifle. Both brothers are facing charges at juvenile court; the 15-year-old with reckless endangerment, his older brother with felony evidence tampering.
