Four-year-old is Shot and Killed with Father’s Unsecured Gun

In River Grove, Illinois, 4-year-old Camila Arianaduart was accidentally shot and killed in her home with her father’s loaded gun. Another child living in the house pulled the trigger. According to the police statement, “[t]he father, who holds valid FOID [Firearm Owner’s Identification] and concealed carry cards, also admitted to being the owner of the handgun used in the accidental shooting, which he claimed was stored on a high shelf in a closet.” The father is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
