Boy is Killed with Stolen Gun and Man is Injured after Friend Accidentally Shoots Him

In Troy, Alabama, Jaquez Mirkel Wynn, 12, was accidentally shot and killed with a gun that was stolen from a vehicle the day before. Three teens have been charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle and one of them, a 15-year-old, has also been charged with reckless murder. All three are being held at a juvenile detention facility awaiting court hearings. A lieutenant with the police department said, “[t]hese kids were all familiar with each other, and they were just there hanging out.”

And in another case of “negligent handling of a firearm,” a 20-year-old man in Abilene, Texas was taken to the hospital after being accidentally shot by a friend. The friend fled the scene and has not been located, and there is no additional information at this time.
