Toddler Dead After Finding Her Uncle’s Loaded Gun
A 2-year-old child in Pompano Beach, Florida, found an unsecured firearm in her uncle’s home and shot and killed herself. Lius Appolon, the girl’s uncle and the owner of the gun, has been arrested and charged with manslaughter.
“Obviously horrific,” said a retired police captain. “There should never be a scenario where a child that age has access to a firearm.” He added that if you have young children in your home, a gun safe helps keep the gun secure, but nevertheless allows you to “get to it quickly.”
Again, no one asked why we allow manufacturers to make guns that even a two-year-old child can fire.
