Church Member Wounded after Sunday Service and Teen Hurt Mishandling a Gun

After Sunday services in South Holland, Illinois, an innocent bystander was struck by gunfire that erupted in the church’s parking lot. The victim, a long-time church member, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. According to the pastor of the church, multiple people started shooting and around 20 shots were fired. Police continue to investigate.

In Redwood City, California, a 15-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in the upper leg. Police believe the gun discharged when the teen put it in his waistband. He was taken to the hospital with “serious” but non-life-threatening injuries. The gun was removed from the scene by a friend of the victim and all police found was a 9mm casing.
