A Deadly Accident with a Ghost Gun

Andre Skinner of New Orleans, Louisiana, was charged with negligent homicide after he told police that he was trying to take apart a ghost gun “to become more familiar with it.” He first removed the magazine but wasn’t aware that there was a round still in the chamber. When the gun fired, the round struck and killed 15-year-old Kennedi Belton, a high school freshman who was attending a sleepover with some friends in the next room.
The gun apparently did not have a magazine safety disconnect. Like all ghost guns, it was short on safety features.
