Two Children Shot as Innocent Bystanders

An eight-year-old and a three-year-old were victims of other people’s gun violence today. 

The eight-year-old, Aacuria Hinton of Greensboro, North Carolina, was shot while sleeping in her bunk bed.  The bullet was fired from outside for reasons that police are investigating. Her injuries are considered life-threatening, and she is in critical condition.

The three-year-old was shot together with her mother in a Fort Worth, Texas drive-by shooting.  Her injuries are not considered life threatening and three suspects are in custody.

Both children were innocent bystanders.
