In Lakeland, Florida, a 12-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed himself after finding a gun at a friend’s house during a sleepover. The boy and his 13-year-old friend were in the garage and found a gun in one of the family’s vehicles.  According to the report, there were no adults at home at this time of the incident. The 12-year-old was handling the gun when it went off.

There is an ongoing investigation and the victim’s name has not been released.
