A three-year-old and a five-year old were shot today in incidents for which limited details are being reported.

Leon Walker, Jr., a Birmingham, Alabama 19-year-old, is charged with aggravated child abuse after police said his three-year-old sister was shot in the abdomen.  The circumstances of the incident have not been fully reported. It is unclear if Walker fired the gun unintentionally or if his sister found the gun in their home and fired it herself.

Tatyanna Stegall, 27, of Waukegan, Wisconsin, was charged with three counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and other crimes after her five-year old stepson was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound. The report suggests that it was the boy’s father who shot the boy and that she was trying to cover up for him.  The circumstances of the shooting are unclear.
