An Interlachen, Florida five-year-old was critically injured today when a 17-year-old pulled a gun on the child’s father to settle a traffic dispute. The 17-year-old was arrested after shooting the five-year old in the head.  The boy was airlifted to a hospital for emergency surgery where he is reported to be in critical but stable condition.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the 17-year-old, identified as Jaelin Hope, got into a dispute with the boy’s father and pulled a gun after the man had turned his car around in the incorrect belief that Hope was flagging him down. The scope of the charges against Hope were not reported.
