In an episode apparently involving celebratory gunfire during fireworks, an 18-year old was struck by a falling round in a Seattle, Washington park.  The teen’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.

A Brownsville, Texas police officer shot himself in the foot during a “SWAT competition”. The competition involved a hostage rescue, sniper spotter and a team obstacle course, but did not apparently involve training in how to handle a gun.
