Two 12-year olds were injured in gun accidents today.
In Catasauqua, Pennsylvania, a 12-year old boy was struck by a pellet from a shotgun shell that fired accidentally while a relative was unloading the gun inside his home. The pellet passed through a wall and struck the boy in the neck. His relative had gone outdoors with the shotgun to investigate a noise he had heard and was unloading it upon reentering the house. The boy’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.
And a North Charleston, South Carolina 12-year old is in critical condition at the hospital after he was injured in a shooting the police have concluded was accidental. The circumstances of the accident have not been reported.
