A 12-year old Chicago, Illinois girl was in a car with her family returning home from her birthday dinner when she was struck in the head by a bullet fired on the street. According to police, the shooters were firing at a different car.  The girl was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

And in Little Rock, Arkansas, Terrence McGhee, age 19, was arrested for possession of illegally modified weapons after he accidentally shot himself in the hand.  At the time of the accident, McGhee was in possession of a Glock 35 pistol modified to fire fully automatically and a Taurus pistol with an illegally extended magazine.
