Harold James of Washington, DC was lying in watching TV when a bullet came through the ceiling and struck him in the leg.  It ended his life.

According to authorities, the man living the apartment upstairs from James was cleaning his gun when it discharged.   “I don’t think any of us can ever imagine a bullet coming from an upstairs apartment and then striking a possible artery or the adult male laying in his bed watching TV. It is a tragic event,” a local police commander said.  The commander, of course, failed to recognize that this type of gun accident is not uncommon. 

The man who accidentally fired the fatal shot is cooperating with police.
