Heather Sitton, an Indiantown, Florida mother of three, was struck in the shoulder by a stray bullet fired by neighbors who were using their backyard for target practice. The bullet passed through her collarbone and exited the other shoulder. She was flown to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Heather, her children, and others were in their own backyard when the accident occurred. According to the woman’s husband, Jason Sitton, backyard target practice is common in their neighborhood. “I’m yelling at the top of my lungs, ‘Stop. You just shot my wife.’ Like, ‘Stop! Help! Help!’ And they just kept shooting,'” he said.
