A Houston, Texas 23-year old was accidentally shot and killed by her boyfriend today.  Houston police concluded that the man had removed a pistol from his waistband and was unloading the gun when it went off.  Their determination was apparently based on witness statements. 

There is no report about whether the trigger was pulled in the incident, whether safety features, such as an external manual safety, were present on the gun and deployed, or whether the gun was defective.  The man was questioned by police and released without charges.
