Serenity Broughton, a seven-year old girl, was killed and her six-year old sister was injured in Chicago, Illinois when an unknown suspect fired shots at their family car. Both girls were shot multiple times.  The younger girl is expected to survive. In the wake of the incident, a Community Peace Walk has been scheduled.

In Louisville, Kentucky, 9-year old Kaylee Lee was also shot and killed.  A neighbor said “A child should never have to be in that situation.  A nine-year-old shouldn’t have to worry, ‘Hey, I said something at school and I have to worry about going home and getting shot.’ A nine-year-old shouldn’t have to worry about that.”
