In the latest incident in a rash of accidental shootings involving young children this week, Makayla McKay, a four-year old Chicago, Illinois girl was shot and killed by another child inside her home. “It was an accident,” a Police Superintendent said. “A visiting relative brought a gun to visit inside the home. It was in a bag. One of the young kids were playing with the guns and accidentally fired the gun, killing a small child.”
“Whenever you bring guns into a situation, it’s much more dangerous,” the Superintendent added. “You bring guns into any situation without proper safety, proper training, if you illegally possess a gun, it’s always more dangerous when a gun is in play.”
There is an ongoing investigation, but no one is in custody.
