Two Tennessee children were unintentional victims of gun violence today; an 11-year old was killed and a 5-year old was injured in separate incidents.
In Memphis, Tennessee, a single gunshot inside an apartment complex struck and killed an 11-year old, according to neighbors. Police are investigating. “It’s overwhelming, overwhelming, you know what I’m saying,” said a witness. “Just heartbreaking to see that happen these days you know.”
In Nashville, a stray bullet entered a home and injured the five-year old. The home was apparently in the crossfire as people started shooting at each other. “It’s usually a very quiet family-oriented street,” a neighbor said. “We want to live in a world that’s filled with love and peace and harmony if that’s possible.”
