In Waco, Texas, a 5-year old boy found a loaded gun in the backseat of a car with him and shot himself in the leg. His mother, who was in the driver’s seat, claimed she was unaware that there was an unsecured gun in the car.
A representative of the Waco police said “this is an opportunity to remind the public of the importance on gun safety; any individual that chooses to carry is responsible for their firearm.” There is an ongoing investigation.
