Michelle Cummings, a Houston mom visiting Annapolis, Maryland to drop off her son at the Naval Academy was killed as an innocent bystander when someone opened fire near the hotel where she was staying.  She was on the patio of the hotel at the time of the shooting.  Apparently the round that killed Ms. Cumming was fired on another street and traveled a significant distance before striking her.

Her son, a football prospect entering the Academy,  posted a reaction to his mother’s death on his social media asking one simple question: “Why?”
