Seven children under the age of six were killed or injured by gunfire today. All of them were innocent bystanders to adult gun violence.
In Memphis Tennessee, a one-year old child was shot and killed inside a vehicle. “Our kids are scared to death out there,” a local community group leader said.
The other incidents were as follows:
- In Birmigham, Alabama, a “small child” was struck and injured when someone fired at his family’s car;
- In San Angelo, Texas, a five-year old was shot at a local sports complex;
- In Louisville, Kentucky, a five-year old girl was shot;
- Outside Seattle, Washington, a one-year old was shot and injured; and
- In Petersburg, Virginia, a 6-year old and a 5-year old were struck by gunfire while playing outside at their housing complex.
