A 17-year old, a 12-year old and a four-year old were injured in gun accidents today.
In Rigby, Idaho, a 17-year old was removing his gun from a vehicle while fishing with friends when the gun accidentally fired and he was struck in the chest. He was flown to the hospital and is expected to recover.
In Chicago, Illinois, a 12-year old was struck in the chest when another child accidentally fired a gun that the two children were handling. The gun was recovered at the scene, but the child who fired the gun had fled. The injured boy was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.
And an Opelousas, Louisiana man was arrested and charged with “negligent injury” after a four-year old found the man’s loaded gun in a bathroom and shot himself in the finger. The boy took the gun to a bedroom where the accident occurred.
