In Federal Way, Washington, a man was handling a gun inside his home when it fired.  The bullet passed through three walls and struck his 8-year old daughter in the stomach.  The girl is not expected to survive.  Her father was arrested at the hospital on unspecified charges.

In December of 2020, a Federal Way 9-year old was accidentally shot in the stomach.  Few details of the earlier accident were reported and it is unclear whether the girl’s wound was self-inflected.

Federal Way is a city near Tacoma of fewer than 100,000 people.
