The Burnett County sheriff’s department responded today when a Siren, Wisconsin man was shot inside a bar. The Siren police and the St. Croix tribal police also responded.
Investigators determined that the shot that injured the bar patron had been accidentally fired in a house across the street. The round apparently pierced both the wall of the home and the wall of the bar before the injured man was struck. The victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The person who accidentally fire the round is cooperating with investigating authorities. The case was referred to the local district attorney for possible charges.
