In Louisiana today, there were two different innocent bystander shootings. Three people were injured, and a five-year old child has died.
In Shreveport, Louisiana, one of two men arguing in a hotel parking lot fired a gun. The bullet penetrated the wall of the hotel and struck a five-year old in the head and grazed his mother. The child, who has not been identified, was in critical condition at a local hospital where he later passed away. Police arrested Joseph Lee Smith in Texas in connection with the incident.
In New Orleans, on Bourbon Street, shots were fired that injured two innocent bystanders. Police are seeking help to identify the shooters depicted in a photograph that was taken near the time of the incident. A witness reported, “[i]t was an adrenaline rush … My first priority was grabbing my friend, and we started running … I was scared I was going to get shot in the back.”
