At the St. Lucie Shooting Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida, a bullet pierced a barrier and struck a shooting range employee. An off-duty police officer was present at the time. She and another officer applied a pair of tourniquets. The injured man was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.
A police investigation revealed that the employee was behind a barrier while patrons were firing. Police said that a bullet penetrated the barrier and hit the employee in the leg.
In October, in an unrelated incident, two Glock handguns were stolen at the same shooting center. Two men were arrested and a third is still at large.
