For the second time this week, a woman was mistaken for an intruder in the middle of the night and shot by her partner. In an incident that bears a startling similarity to one reported in Utah on Tuesday of this week, a man was woken by noise in his home and grabbed a loaded weapon to investigate. In tonight’s incident, in Atlanta, Georgia, the sleeping man heard a noise in the kitchen. He ended up shooting his 58-year old girlfriend.
The woman was “stable when police arrived.” No determination has been made about charges.
In another similar recent incident, also in Georgia, a Clayton County woman was arrested recently after shooting an officer in the arm, believing that he was an intruder. She faces two counts of reckless conduct.
