A Gadsden, Alabama man shot himself outside the hospital after bringing his wife in for treatment of an accidental gunshot wound. The women’s injuries were not life threatening, but the man was taken to a second hospital where he is reported to be in critical condition.
A school two blocks from the hospital was placed on lockdown after the incident. The Centre Police Department, the Leesburg Police Department, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and the sheriff’s office all responded to the incident when it was reported by the hospital.
The circumstances of the accident are eerily similar to one reported just ten days ago on March 7, 2020 in Paris, Tennessee.
